The area of Peza is recognized as a zone of Protected Designation of Origin and the quality of the olive oil is among the top of the global production.

The crown of efforts and research of this small group of Union producers is the production of an olive oil of very low acidity (0,15 – 0,24%) derived from fresh olives of the variety "Koroneiki" gathered during the first days of olive harvest. The golden-green distillate of the olive fruit from the Holy Monastery of Agarathos’ property is available by Peza Union in a tin of 5L. The Holy Monastery of Agarathos with a legendary history of a thousand years is situated in the area of Peza Union at an altitude of 380m and is dedicated to Virgin Mary. It is a diachronic educational centre for great figures of history, among them the subsequent Patriarchs and remarkable ecclesiastical personalities such as Kyrillos Loukaris (Cyril Lucar) and Saint Meletios Pigas. The word Agarathos is the pre-Hellenic name of the bush "thalloti or kratiforos", known as "Jerusalem’s sage", under which an icon of Virgin Mary was found and where the church was constructed in a miraculous way.
